New gadget

Okay, I just added this gadget to the left side of the screen. I still need to raise a lot of money for the tuition and this add-on will really help with that. All you have to do is click on the chipin button on the left side of the blog and using a credit card you can make a donation to my tuition for the trip. If I can get just $2-$5 from about 100 people that will cover most of what I have left to pay, so if you can spare a couple of dollars that would be fantastic!
Thank you!
Jon

Hey Everyone

Hi,
I'm Jon a soon to be foreign exchange student with AFS(American Field Service) intercultural programs. I'm a senior in high school and live in Northeastern Minnesota with my family: parents, and 3 siblings(I am the oldest out of the 4 of us).

I'll be leaving in August this year for Norway(don't know where in Norway yet)! Norway has always been a place I have wanted to go to because so much of my lineage stems from the country. I hope to gain a lot of insight on this trip that will help me in the coming years as I prepare for college and life afterwords.

After this trip I plan to attend the College of Saint Scholastica in Duluth, MN. I am planning on majoring in exercise physiology, and after that I don't really know what I am going to do.

I am really looking forward to traveling out of the country and learning about a different culture and just seeing what it is like to live in a completely different environment than I am in now. All of my friends and family have been very supportive of my plans for the coming years, many of whom say they wish that they had done something like this before college.

Staying busy is definitely not a problem for me, in fact most of the time I think I have too much going on. Being a senior in high school just makes things busier, along with a few of the sports I do including: cross country running in the fall, Nordic(cross country) skiing in the winter, and new for this year track in the spring. During the summer I just get to chill out with friends, work, and train for the coming sports seasons.

We have already been doing some fundraising, including my mom making these insanely good dessert rolls over the Thanksgiving/Christmas time period, we did really well with but we would still like to raise another five thousand dollars. Well anyway, I think that about covers things for now.

Thanks for reading,
Jon
